In what is surely a sign of the times, Hyundai will be represented by a slew of customized cars at the 2010 SEMA Show, which runs from November 2 to 5. For the creation of this nicely done example of the 2011 Sonata Turbo, Hyundai teamed up with RIDES and 0-60 magazines. According to the South Korean automaker, the customized Sonata Turbo’s styling was inspired by Ferrari, Mercedes and Porsche models.

Chevrolet will use this week’s SEMA show to display two new special edition models and two concept versions of its 2011 Camaro. The new production models are the Camaro Synergy Series and XM Accessories Appearance Package, both of which will be available for order in the 2011.

The Renault Espace MPV is entering the 2011 model year with some subtle updates including the addition of LED daytime running lights and new equipment, as well as a Euro 5 compliant engine range. In the UK, it will be available to order from November 8 and in showrooms from January 2011, priced from £24,495 to £28,495. The cost to upgrade from the Espace to the long-wheelbase Grand Espace is £1,500.

Honda has introduced a new model year version of its British-built Civic Type R Euro in Japan. The 2011MY batch will be the last of this model series to make its way to Japan as production of the current generation three-door Civic Type R has been terminated in Europe because its 2.0-litre VTEC engine does not meet the Euro V emissions regulations.

Last week, we told you about some of the new cars and concept models heading to the LA Auto Show in mid-November. Now we have news of Honda’s plans for the motor show. The Japanese automaker said it will host the world premiere of an all-new electric vehicle concept as well as a plug-in hybrid platform showcasing the next-generation of Honda hybrid technology.

Hitting the SEMA Show floors next week will be an array of customized Lexus hybrid models. The Japanese firm’s lineup in Las Vegas will include the RX 450h SUV tuned by Paul Tolson, a race-spec GS 450h sedan, the VIP Auto Salon-prepped HS 250h sedan and two modified LS 600h L limos.

A couple of weeks ago, Chrysler announced details on the Dodge Mopar 10′ Challenger special, but kept the pictures under wraps simply teasing us with a single illustration of the muscle car.
Today, the company published a full set of images on the Mopar ’10 Challenger, which is available for pre-order now in a limited production of 500 units with pricing set at $38,000 for an automatic transmission and $39,000 for a manual gearbox.
The limited edition model is based on the 2010 Challenger R/T with the 5.7-liter HEMI V8 engine. Mopar, the parts and accessories arm of Chrysler, has spruced up the car with a raft of cosmetic and performance enhancements.

This here conceptual proposal for a mid-engined supercar is the AMV-R (an acronym for Automotive Visual Racing) and it’s the brainchild of Alexei Mikhailov, a third year design student at the Humber College Institute of Technology & Advanced Learning in Toronto, Canada. The renderings were not accompanied by any details on the car, but we could easily see the AMV-R wearing the Pagani logo. More photos after the jump.

Following on from its world premiere at a special event at New York’s Times Square in June, Volkswagen has released more details and photos of the new 2011 Jetta sedan. Designed in Germany but built at VW’s plant in Mexico, the sixth generation Jetta goes on sale in the U.S. in October with prices starting at US$15,995 (€12,450 at today’s exchange rates). VW said European prices will be announced when ordering begins in individual countries.
The new four-door saloon has grown in dimensions measuring 182.7 inches (4.64 meters) long, 57.1 inches (1.45 meters) tall and 70.1 inches (1.78 meters) wide, making it 3.54 inches (90mm) longer than the previous Jetta, while the styling is sharper adopting VW’s new design language.
