This month’s Frankfurt Motor Show will see BMW launching a special edition version of the M6 coupe called Competition that will be produced in a limited run of just 100 units. While the M6′s 507 horsepower V10 engine remains intact, the engineers over at BMW’s M division tweaked the Competition model’s suspension with new springs, dampers and stabilisers as well as lowering the coupe’s ride height by 12mm at the front and 10 mm at the rear.

The good thing with vinyl wraps is that in the event that you don’t like the end-result or you get quickly bored of the new color scheme, you can always change back to the one you had before. The subtly modded M3 comes with selected black accessories that includes 18-inch HRE alloy wheels shod in 275/35 R18 Nitto rubber all around and a Vorsteiner front lip spoiler and rear diffuser, which seem to work pretty well with the Dakar Yellow paint job.

BMW has confirmed pricing on its new compact SUV for many European markets. In Germany, the entry-level, rear-wheel drive X1 sDrive18i petrol model will go on sale in Europe from the beginning of 2010 with a starting price of €27,200. The range topping, all-wheel drive xDrive28i with its 258HP straight six gasoline engine is priced from €41,500 or 7.3 percent (€3,400) less than the 272HP X3 xDrive30i.

Canadian tuner MWDesign have begun a tuning programme for the BMW M3 Coupe (E92) which they have codenamed Darth Maul, presumably from the Star Wars Episode One baddie. Currently the programme is in stage 1. For now only a few pieces of kit have been installed in Jerez Black, the colour of the exterior. For starters there is an Amuse Ericsson front bumper with custom orange highlights.

The Ultimate Speed Comparison has been held as a crowd spectacle in order to excite and at the same time host a fair comparison between cars that would normally never be seen “competing.”

The first official picture of the all-new Alpina B7 Bi-Turbo has made its way into the internet prior to the sport saloon’s world premiere in Geneva next week. Alpina’s latest proposal is based on the new 7-Series and it uses a modified version of BMW’s factory 4.4-liter twin-turbochargedV87 engine developed to produce 507-horsepower and 700Nm of torque.
